Joseph Ponitz

Marengo native, Joseph C. Ponitz, has a background which encompasses a wide range of practice areas, including criminal and general civil litigation. Joe was a prosecutor with the Winnebago County State's Attorney's office. While working at the State's Attorney's office, Joe gained extensive courtroom experience in a variety of proceedings. Specifically, his areas of specialization include criminal defense, domestic relations, domestic violence, and D.U.I. He also speaks fluent Spanish.

Joe left Marengo to attend law school at Southern Illinois University's School of Law. At Southern, Joe was an active member of the school's law review and also won the Southern Illinois University alumni scholarship award. Currently, Joe also serves as a Board of Director for the McHenry County Youth Services Bureau.
